Why we standardized
on UniFi.
Most small businesses face a bad choice: consumer gear that falls over under load, or enterprise platforms whose per-device licenses cost more than the hardware. We picked the third option.
Ubiquiti UniFi delivers enterprise features — VLANs, seamless roaming, centralized cloud management, PoE switching — with zero software license fees. That single fact reshapes the entire business model: instead of passing vendor subscriptions through to you, your monthly fee funds the engineers designing, monitoring, and maintaining your network.
Standardizing on one stack also means consistency. Every BowdenCore deployment is built the same way, documented the same way, and cabled to the same standard — so support is fast, migrations are boring (in the best way), and you're never locked into a snowflake network only one person understands.
And when a regulated practice needs more than UniFi's native firewall offers, we don't rip and replace — we layer an enterprise NGFW at the perimeter and keep the UniFi access layer doing what it does best. That's Stage 2.
